Adaptogenic Granola with Maca Alive

Granola has long been heralded as a health food, but most store bought versions are packed with added sugars, oils and other ingredients that aren’t all that healthy if consumed regularly. We decided to make an adaptogenic granola using whole food ingredients, packing it with protein rich nuts and seeds, with an energizing kick from our Maca Alive fermented supplements.

Adaptogens are a group of plants which possess adaptive properties, meaning in nature they respond and adapt well to harsh conditions, and they support us in a similar way. Adaptogens help to balance, restore and protect the body, supporting our hormonal health, energy levels and immune system. Our adaptogenic alive range, make the perfect addition to your recipes, open the capsules and add the powders to your mixture to give it a nutritional boost.

Maca is a root vegetable that grows at high altitudes in the Andes mountains of Peru and Bolivia, it is a great addition to food and drink recipes like this adaptogenic granola. Maca is an adaptogen which helps the body to adapt when under stressful situations and brings the body back into balance. Our Maca Alive fermented supplements are nutrient rich, containing amino acids, minerals such as calcium, potassium, iron, magnesium, phosphorous and zinc, certain vitamins such as B1, B2 and C, as well as iodine and several essential fatty acids. Maca can help to nourish our adrenals and endocrine system, as well as containing nutrients which help to balance hormone production. Traditionally Maca was consumed for its strength and endurance benefits, as well as supporting energy levels, libido and fertility.

Maca’s energizing benefits make this adaptogenic granola the perfect breakfast, pre-workout booster, or anytime snack. Top your smoothies or yoghurt with it, or mix into some coconut kefir made with our symbiotics.
